We are very excited to have a 3-D printer on display at the library! The MakerBot Replicator 2 is on loan to us from the Suffolk Cooperative Library System until April 16th. It builds three-dimensional objects using a plastic filament that is heated and extruded through a nozzle. Files used to create the objects can be downloaded from open-source websites, created by scanning an object using the Digitizer or through design programs. All files are saved to an SD card that is inserted into the printer.
